“Our house in Silvermine is 40 years old and was in need of a fresh look. By happenstance, my wife was on a daily walk and noticed a crew of painters from Silvermine Painting working on a home not far from where we live. She mentioned the company to me, and I placed a call to the owner, Anna Roberts, after looking at the website and reading the lengthy reviews praising the work Silvermine Painting had completed. I’d like to add this review to the long and happy list. Anna came over and did a walk-around of our home, pointing out specific areas that needed attention and how her crew would handle things — cleaning and sanding prep, priming, and then two topcoats of Benjamin Moore’s Arborcoat acrylic stain, the same product I was thinking of all along. She told me precisely how many guys would come to the job site, how many days it would take to complete the job, and said that a small amount of carpentry might be needed to repair a couple of attic vents. In a short time, she prepared and emailed a precise estimate of what I should expect to pay for the work, and I agreed and accepted the fair amount to be charged. We set a date for the start of work. Anna herself was 20 minutes early and she was soon followed by her foreman Oscar and painters Alberto and Juan and their equipment and materials — ladders, dropcloths, stain, etc. One of the guys, Herman, was added and carpenter Gerson later fabricated and installed two vent sills that were needed. All in all, they were all prompt, courteous, and best of all skilled and dedicated to completing the job professionally and perfectly. Yes, perfectly. In all my days, I’ve never seen a crew work like they did, from owner to painters to the carpentry work. They get and deserve an “A+” for their effort, skill, and friendliness. Anna was super responsive — after I called, she came the next day to look at the space, sent the quote within hours and got me on the schedule super fast! “It is painting – how excited can you get? Like many household tasks you forget how great something can look and work until you get painting and repairs done. Anna, Joel, Oscar and her crews were terrific. The power washing, sanding, carpentry repairs and other prep was thorough and professional; especially, Joel’s carpentry, which was reasonable and proportional; for instance the garage door trim was estimated as a complete multi thousand dollar rebuild by one bidder; Joel understood the need not to make a major effort out of 4 inches of rot and was able to slave in a replacement, sand it down, seal it and move on – things like that were pitch perfect for what we needed, collaborative and cost effective. The complete removal, repair and re-installation of the Storm windows, the sanding to bear wood and the first class painting were more than I expected (I would have slapped a new coat right over the old and painted around the storms). Any minor damage was immediately resolved. The final product took 80 years off the look of the house and the price didn’t bring the roof down. I highly recommend Silvermine and I NEVER write reviews so factor that in…” Dave
